A childhood dream come true
Since the age of 9, Marie Gendron has nurtured a passion for sailing. Inspired by the technological giants of the 6m50 class, she transformed her childhood dream by building her first sailboat during her studies. Thanks to her determination and boldness, she has now found her place among the best sailors.
Based in Lorient, she lives according to her values: travelling by train and bicycle, committed to environmental protection and gender diversity in sailing.

I had neither income nor knowledge of naval construction, yet in 2012 I embarked on building my first boat during my studies. Sailing is more than a passion; it’s a commitment. This led me to build my second Mini using flax fibre to achieve a podium finish in the Mini Transat 2023.”

Marie’s achievements
Since 2017, Marie has participated in numerous races and secured several podium finishes, including a victory in the Mini en Mai 2023 and third place in the Mini Transat 2023. She finished the 2024 season in 3rd place in the French Championship in the ‘proto’ category.

Marie builds her first boat as part of a second-year university project in materials science and engineering.
A new challenge with the Figaro 3
In 2025, Marie will take the helm of a foil-equipped Figaro 3. This boat showcases her sailing skills in a class where only the sailor’s performance makes the difference.
